Exam week usually goes one of two ways for me; either I stress out and cope by spending too much time getting one part of my life together OR I stress out, don't do any exercise and eat too much crappy food. This time was definitely the latter. Either way, my skin completely freaks out and this combined with a certain time of the month means I'm frantically raiding my bathroom cabinet for a solution. This is the product I always go to and it works every time.
Before purchasing this product I had only really tested one other mask, the REN Clear Calm Clarifying Clay Mask, that I enjoyed but needed something more moisturising that I could use when my skin was both dry and covered with red, painful pimples. Reviews from Vivianna Does Makeup and Ramblings of A Beauty Bird convinced me to finally purchase the product and I'm so glad I did.
The Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask is soothing and calming on the skin. It has an almost cream-like texture to it and is so easy to apply. Instead of almost cracking on the skin as clay masks do, this mask tightens only slightly and still leaves the skin feeling clean and nourished. As it sets, it cools, welcome news to anyone with irritated and inflamed skin such as mine.
The moisturising and nourishing properties of honey, particularly manuka honey, have been known for quite some time so the fact that this product hydrates is not utterly surprising. What did strike me was how quickly my pimples began to recede the next morning after using it. Not only that, but my skin was plump and my serum and moisturiser applied to my face much better.
I apply this mask after cleansing my skin with the Alpha H Balancing Cleanser and apply it on dry skin. I leave it on for 15 minutes and once I remove it, I apply my moisturiser and go to bed. No toner, no serum. Simple routine. Brilliant results.
It's so important to have products that will work when both you and your skin are not at your best. So go ahead and buy this beauty! You can find it at feelunique.com for $38.70 with free shipping to Australia.
To better days!
